New Diesel watches collection for 2011

I’m a big fan of the Diesel clothing range especially the jeans as they are fashionable without be over the top and now they have recently released a new, updated range of cool digital and analog watches. Previously I never really looked at Diesel watches much, I would normally opt for CK or D&G if I was going to buy a watch but looking at this collection there are a good few watches that really catch the eye. They are affordable watches too with the price staring from from as little as £45. For a fairly high end fashion brand their watch prices are great value. This compare the the £100+ starting prices of the other brands I mentioned earlier.

These Diesel watches are very much designed for the fashionable and casual look so they can be worn for most occasions whether it’s work or play! In fact I would say there is a watch for specifically designed for a range of styles including more rugged looks or sophisticated.

One of the watches that has really caught my eye and is featured quite prominently on the official Diesel website is this unisex Thermal watch from their Young Blood range. As the name states, it’s probably designed for the more young and trendy wearer. It’s also available in a range of fun colours including the emerald green (shown here), pink and blue. What’s unique about this watch is that it changes colour according to your temperature. It basically has an internal heat sensor within the strap that alters the appearance according to the temperature of your wrist. That’s pretty cool in my opinion.

On the flip side they also have some watches that I’m not too keen on at all. There is another member of the Young Blood range that seems to look like something out of alien vs predator! Ok maybe not that extreme but it’s pretty ugly. Maybe it’s just the black version but it’s sliding fascia doesn’t slide back far enough for me and this leaves a relatively small digital display.

Diesel do have more simplistic watches that are great looking and just do what you would expect from a watch. There is the Diesel DZ1371 men’s watch that delivers a very sleek, all-black design with perfectly round 49mm case diameter. This along with the ion plated bracelet does make the watch a bit heavy but I can see this as a great watch to wear with the contrasting grey logo, indicies and numbers at 2,3 and 4 helping to really make the watch grab some attention back.

For ladies there is the Diesel DZ5230 split level analog watch that is both lightweight and attractive. Diesel watches for women always seem to give more retro look to them when compared to other watch brands and I think this is largely due to the square shapes that they give most of them. It’s not a bad thing though and this watch in particular offers a bright, sunray finish that gives it a lovely glow. The time is also easy to read for such a small watch, helped by the 24 hour numerical dial. For the price of £90 it would also make a great gift.

There are some more expensive watches in the Diesel watches range that reach £300+ some of which we will delve into other posts in the future. The one that looks pretty awesome is the DZ9061.
