I recently made a trip to Hong Kong to visit a good friend. It was a short break but a great one at that having eaten some delicious food and seen some simply stunning skylines and sites that will forever live long in my memory.  On my way back I decided to pick up a magazine from a shop at the airport and came across a Chinese edition of Time Square. This is the world’s leading watch magazine. If there’s any designer, luxurious watch worth talking about then it’s going to be in here! Anyway with this edition was a special on CVSTOS watches. I’d never heard of the brand before but I fell in love right there and then when I saw some of the watches they’ve created.

Background on CVSTOS

Let me give you some background about CVSTOS Watches. The CVSTOS brand has been around for a short  time now having only been founded in 2004 by Swiss American, Sassoun Sirmakes and Antonio Terranova. You may know Sassoun as the son of Mr Vartan Sirmakes, CEO of Franck Muller. This partnership was born out of Sassoun’s passion for horology and his natural entrepreneurial talents. He had a vision to create a watch that would set a trend based on tradition,  that is distinctive, original, and whose craftsmanship surpasses that of any other watch brand. He wanted a brand that would be the guardian for the future of watches and embrace Haute Horlogerie and in my opinion, with the genius creativity Terranova, they have achieved this.

Considerable thought has gone into the creation of these watches and their unique appearance. Being able to see behind the face and into the mechanics of the watch is something that impressed me the most. Simple but effective in creating a modern timepiece. The high quality is achieved in the materials used combining  Palladium and Grade 5 Titanium to enhance efficiency and movement of the rotary mechanics. The RMT-S  range features two of the three major complicated watch-making skills – minute repeater and tourbillon and CVSTOS watches have always focused on shock absorption in order to protect its watches. The result is a watch with a world premiere performance movement with technical ingenuity and beauty.
